All our rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished with either private or en-suite facilities.

For some years Glendale Guest House has received the prestigious Four Star award from Visit England, (previously Visit Britain), which is a reliable indication of the quality of B&B accommodation and service our guests will receive. In 2007 a further accolade was received when Glendale Guest House was presented with the Visit England Silver Award, a measure of the highest standards of service and B&B accommodation.

Breakfast time at Glendale is always a real treat, served in our comfortable dining room you can enjoy a relaxing start to the day with something to best suit your appetite from our extensive menu. Our buffet always has cereals, fruits, yogurts and fruit juice, you can then make your choice from hot croissant with jam, a simple scrambled eggs on muffin or a hearty English breakfast with Cumberland sausage and hash brown. All accompanied by tea or freshly ground coffee and wholemeal toast with our own home-made marmalade. .A selection of vegetarian options are always available. Our breakfast menu selection rivals many Hotels.
All ingredients and products are selected from the best locally available and Fairtrade sources.

Location. Our B&B Guest House is situated in a quiet location within four minutes walk of the Lake District Market Town centre of Keswick. The town of Keswick offers a wide variety of attractions including:- museums, galleries, shops, restaurants, pubs and three beautiful parks.

Shopping in Keswick. Keswick is famous for its shopping and has, probably, the best range of outdoor equipment and climbing shops in the country. There are also a range of quality galleries with art of all kinds, Antique shops, gift shops and book shops. In addition Coffee Shops, Cafes and Tea rooms to while away some time or maybe watch the people go by.

Things to do in Keswick. Activities and events for everyone take place in Keswick during the year. The next big events for 2012 include the Keswick Mountain Festival (16th to 20th May), Queens Jubilee Celabrations and the Lakes Alive Spectaular on Derwentwater 10th & 11th August.

Exploring the area. Keswick sits at the head of Derwentwater, the most picturesque of the lakes in the Lake District National Park. The lake shore, is only a ten-minute stroll from the Guest House, where you can catch the regular Keswick launch service to any of the six jetties around the lake. From there you can walk on Cat Bells, Maiden Moor and the many other beautiful fells around the Newlands Valley, or visit Ashness Bridge, Lodore Falls and the village of Grange. Whether you want to explore the filming locations of Miss Potter and those made famous in the books of Beatrix Potter, or head for the high Fells, or simply explore the Lake District landscape, it's all within reach. History of the area. Keswick has a great deal of history and visitors will find many sites around the Town to be of interest. A must visit for all, is the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery which houses many interesting pieces from Keswick's past. The Pencil Museum is a fascinating visit for all ages and tells the tale of Keswick's long association with the pencil making industry.
