What to see around Keswick

Derwentwater is the "Jewel" of the Lake District and sits at the head of the Borrowdale Valley.
Surrounded by mountains Keswick is the ideal location for walking, climbing or just enjoying the fantastic landscape.
To the North is Skiddaw which dominates the scene as it towers over Keswick. To the East Blencathra with Clough Head and the Dodds forming the ridge to Helvellyn.
South is Borrowdale and a multitude of Fells of all sizes leading to the highest point in England, Scafell PIke.
West is Grisedale Pike and the Fells of Newlands Valley.

The Keswick launch cruises hourly around Derwentwater and provides breathtaking views as you complete a circuit of the lake. This a great way to "get your bearings" before exploring further on foot to discover what the Keswick area has to offer.

There are six jetties you can sail to, then enjoy a walk on the fells or back in to the town. Stunning views from the boats. At Glendale we have discounted tickets on sale for the Keswick Launch.
Cat Bells, Lodore Falls, Ashness Bridge and Surprise view are all easily reached from the boat landings. .

Beautiful Watendlath is 5 miles from Keswick where you will find a tea shop, a well stocked trout fishing lake and many easy Lake District walks. The village of Grange sits at the south end of the lake and further down the valley you will discover the villages of Rosthwaite, Stonethwaite and Seatoller.
So many walks of all grades, as well as dicovering amazing sights such as the Bowder Stone, will keep you occupied during your holiday that you may not need to venture out of the Borrowdale Valley.
All of this is only a few minutes from Keswick and can be easily reached by Boat, Bus, Car, or on foot.
